Zeeuwsch-Vlaanderen is different. It has that same something which the British describe in their island as having a sense of: 'wonderful isolation'. The region is part of the Netherlands of course but the landscape and lifestyle are more reminiscent of the Flemish neighbours. The western part of Zeeuwsch-Vlaanderen has a very mild climate for that matter, with less rainfall and higher temperatures than in the rest of the Netherlands. Zeeuwsch-Vlaanderen is the 'overseas' part of the province of Zeeland. Here you'll find the peace and quiet of a 'land far away' without having to travel very far at all.

In this unique corner of the Netherlands, near Breskens, we find Schoneveld recreation park, almost directly on a wide sandy beach and with very spacious and sheltered camping plots of no less than 120 m²! Schoneveld is a quality campsite where you will be made to feel very welcome!

The campsite is divided into attractive camping fields surrounded by a great variety of greenery which includes flowering and scented shrubbery. This is paid plenty of attention at Schoneveld because the greenery is such an important factor for a successful camping holiday in which the 'atmosphere' comes first and foremost. Cars are not allowed on the camping fields, in order to guarantee peace and quiet and also safety for the children playing here. Instead, vehicles can be parked nearby in the car park. Each field has its own water supply with facilities for waste water and each plot has both an electricity point and a cable TV connection.
The first class sanitary facilities are heated comfortably during cooler weather and are of course fitted with virtually all modern conveniences, with special attention for babies and guests in wheelchairs.
What else can we do for you? A quiet location, straight from the campsite onto the beach and excellent sanitary facilities? Schoneveld Recreation park offers many modern and pleasurable conveniences such as an indoor swimming pool, a Fun Food plaza offering a wide range of snacks, pizzas, ice creams and take-away meals, a bar with bowling alley, a supermarket and the campsite's own beach pavilion with sun terraces on the beach. The outdoor facilities include playgrounds around the campsite, tennis courts and a sports and playing field. During most school holidays we offer fun recreation programmes for children up to the age of 12 and also an occasional sports activity for our older guests. That's what makes Schoneveld so suitable for families with children up to the age of 12 and for senior campers.

• From Schoneveld, you can literally go any way you please. For shrimp fishing visit Breskens for example, and for a unique natural area with hundreds of acres of peace and quiet there's the Zwin, a silted up estuary.

• Zeeuwsch-Vlaanderen itself offers plenty of culinary options but the Flemish hinterland in particular is the place to be for a wide range of mouth-watering eating establishments.

• The modern town of Knokke is ideal for shopping and is no more than 30 minutes' drive from the campsite.

• In fact, there are plenty of attractive towns within easy reach. Sluis with its Belfort ramparts. Hulst, known for Reynard the Fox. Flemish towns such as inimitable Bruges and beautiful Ghent are also surprisingly close by for that matter. There's always something to do in these wonderful old towns with their age old architecture, which offer theatre performances, concerts etc. Or why not take the ferry to the other side of the water, which is a fun trip out in itself. You'll arrive in Vlissingen, whose Arsenaal attraction is well worth a visit. Walcheren and its famous towns of Middelburg and Veere is also an ideal point on the itinerary. And so you see, Schoneveld recreation park is a very versatile starting point indeed!
